How do you display your art? Do you shove it in a corner and flick through the stack occasionally, or are you out and proud with your collection, putting it on the wall for all to see and admire.
Do you have a gallery wall with lots of pictures or a feature wall with one stand alone work of art? Do you prefer to cram as much art into your space as possible (in the best possible taste of course), or do you favour a feature wall with a solitary piece of art that grabs your attention and looks quite classy?
I have to admit I am more a gallery wall fan, but that may be because my home is over running with paintings, and one painting on it’s own is just not enough for me.
We all know because it’sour home we can do what you like. The thought police can’t get us. There’s no right or wrong, just what we like.
I’ve put together here some suggestions. The picture on the left is my own gallery wall in the space where we see framing clients . I’ve got a hanging system in place which looked great when we had white walls but shows up on the deep terracotta paint. But I do like the ability to change things round.
A home is never settled. As your life changes so does your furniture and your wall hangings. Fashion comes and goes and taste changes.
Perhaps a gallery wall should be where the chaos of family life is going on, and a feature wall where you want some peace and quiet.
