Welcome to my first paintings of 2019, hot off the easel!
I've shown a few shots of work in progress on instagram and facebook but this is them all their glory.
I had a slow, sluggish start to 2019, fueled, or drugged, by too much food and TV over Christmas. I struggled to get motivated during the dark days , but now I see light at 7 am and it's as though a bulb has been switched on in my brain because mid January saw me in the studio, paintbrush in hand and here are two of the paintings that are finished.
subtle blues, pinks and creams provide the backdrop for this little family walking home after a long day, with a stray child trailing behind.
Oil paints on studio wrapped canvas 40 x 40 cm.
People on the beach seen from afar are a recurrent theme in my paintings. It’s a place far removed from the everyday and lends itself to gentle colours. Oil on canvas 30 x 30 cm.
